SohoSoHo
WebsiteSohoSoHo is a reel directory, powered by ChilliBean. SohoSoHo offers a direct marketing channel to the worlds leading advertising agencies, and through SohoSoHo, ChilliBeans clients can showcase their latest reels, bios and news.
SohoSoHo was the first major project I was involved in during my time at Chillibean. The project spanned six months from start to finish, going through numerous design iterations (and re, re-designs). The brief of the project was simple, to make the new SohoSoHo more usable to its users and to its visitors. Content needed to be accessible in just a few clicks, and page loads needed to be kept to a minimum.
With this in mind I set about the re-design, working from the initial designs by the prior graphic designer. On the home page is the featured content slider, showcasing the latest reels to SohoSoHos visitors as soon as they hit the site. The menu on the right hand side, provides the user access to every company who use SohoSoHo and their creative reels in a single click.
I designed the player to be launched over the top of the page using the Shadowbox JS library. This provided us with a clean user interface, and enabled the user to return to the page they came from without the need to reload it in their web browser.
In just six months of the new design being launched, SohoSoHo saw a 51% increase in visits, and a 210% increase in absolute unique visitors over the previous year. As a result, ChilliBean’s clients where happier that their content was more accessible to their target audience and ChilliBean saw an increase in subscribers using SohoSoHo.
